Within the realm of public speaking, ethical communication is the most important concept one must learn. In other words, learning about public speaking is crucial to the development of our society. It allows us to participate in democracy and express our views amongst each other. Ethically, the moral views we hold as we publically speak must be maintained. Chapter 3 states, “Unethical communication can lead to poor decision-making or a lack of respect for self and others, and threaten the well-being of individuals and society.”
